Honest isn’t the same as finished

The cautionary tale is Opus 4.8: the most thorough participant — over 80 self-learned playbook rules, the deepest analyses of the field — and the last-place finisher. It left the close on the table, and its discipline slipped: when it hit a locked department, it kept trying to write into it instead of escalating. A weaker version of the same flaw showed up in the other four. One fairness footnote: K3 ran without an effort parameter — the API default — while the others ran at xhigh, so its 93 came with one hand tied.
